Our History

Pine View Dairy, previously Pine View Acres Dairy, has been a part of the Lancaster County community since 1971. Brothers John and Larry Hess and Larry’s wife Janet, started the store on their family farm. They invited the consumers onto their farm, to watch the cows being milked and to “shop local” at its finest. Fresh milk and rich ice cream are the twin pillars that have made it a local favorite since the beginning.  Pine View Dairy continues as a family-owned farm and store with the Cliff and Nancy Charles family.

The Charles family have worked the fields and raised hogs on their preserved Lancaster County farm for generations. With several of their adult children heavily involved in the business, they looked to expand into new opportunities. Since their involvement, the farm and store have continued to grow.

Pine View has undergone some transitions through the years but the same pillars of fresh dairy and delicious ice cream have continued to make it a destination for locals and visitors alike. Stop by on a hopping summer evening or a quiet winter morning and experience the best products and people Lancaster County has to offer.
